A full color illustration showing a man writing a letter at a simple wooden desk with a fountain pen while a woman drapes herself possessively over him. The man is weaering a button up shirt and vest, has a slightly hooked nose, heavy eyebrows, a mustache, and short brown wavy hair. The woman is wearing a black 1840's day dress with high neck and a white collar. Her hair is long, black, and undone. It falls down her back and onto the mans shoulder as she leans over him. Her skin is pale, her lips blue, and the tips of her fingers are blackened. A trail of ghostly snow blows away from her, as if she drifted into the room on a cold wind.

A scientist on a polar expedition encounters a woman long thought to be dead in the arctic tundra. Is she real, or is he going mad in the long arctic winter? Either way, he is consumed by thoughts of her.

My first completed illustration of the two main characters for my original project, currently titled “Frostbite.” I am still working out the details, but I have been sketching a lot of ideas and writing. My dream is that this project will be a webcomic with a physical release down the line but i’m getting way ahead of myself.

Vin and Elend from the Mistborn series standing back to back. Vin is wearing a mist cloak and holding coins between her fingers. Elend is wearing a white military uniform and weilding a sword.

this is kind of a companion piece for the last emperor illustration thati posted previously, this time featuring Vin! and a background! i thought “why don’t i just make a quick model and put it in the background” and then spend hours trying to sculpt and render it. but, i think it was worth it!

a 3d model of a victorian study including a gilded desk, two armchairs, and a bookshelf. the same model from a slightly different angle. looking down at the top of the desk. there is a stack of books on the left, an open book in the center, and a candle burning to the right.

I created this set of models to use as a reference for an illustration. I’m still pretty new at blender but I am improving and having some fun.

Individual objects shown under the cut.

steris harms

a black and white drawing of steris harms wearing an edwardian gown. she is pulling up her skirts to reveal a revolver taped to her thigh, blushing, and saying "Do you want something more substantial?"

fullsize image

i love it when the lady pulls up her gown to reveal a concealed weapon!! <3

i loved steris from the moment that she handed wax that marriage contract. i’m so glad that she featured more in bands of mourning, and i love her dyanmic with wax. i wasn’t sure if they were going to end up together at first and i’m so so glad that they did!

i wanted to give her a kind of early 1900’s gibson girl type vibe, so i looked at gowns from that time period for inspiration on the silhouette and undergarments. i started to color this but since it’s just a character sketch i didn’t think about the setting and lighting when i was conceptualizing it and it just wasn’t working to force it.
